Following up on the success of its inaugural year in 2023, “Light Up Talbot” is set to once again accompany the annual Tree Lighting Celebration in St. Thomas Friday.
For those who have not attended in the past, St. Thomas Downtown Development Board Member Suzanne Faris, explains this annual kick off to Christmas for the city.
Once the tree is officially lit, take the time to explore the downtown where a number of scheduled events are taking place.
Faris notes that they have expanded the footprint slightly this year by adding a 5th warming station in the Flora Street Parkette. The cut off on the other end of Talbot will be at Crock A Doodle St. Thomas, just before Elgin Street.
And while you are encouraged to stop in and visit the many businesses who will be staying open late, you can experience the downtown like never before with a nostalgic horse-drawn wagon ride along Talbot Street.
But that’s not all adds Faris, as a number of participants will be going all out on Friday!
As is the case with most DDB events, a passport will be available to help you keep track of all the businesses you explore. They’ll also have two ways to win this year with the addition of the Goosechase App notes Faris.
Different downtown dollar prize packs will be up for grabs, with the breakdown available here.
And as Faris adds, that won’t be the only friendly competition taking place.
