As the 2024 holiday season nears, Family & Children’s Services of St. Thomas and Elgin is inviting the community to support local families in need.
Many caregivers face even more economic challenges this time of year, making it difficult to provide gifts and holiday meals. The organization is prioritizing monetary donations and gift cards to empower caregivers to choose what their families need most.
Monetary contributions enable the purchase of gift cards, allowing families to select essentials like groceries and children’s gifts. Caregivers can choose gifts their children will love and purchase food for holiday meals, all while maintaining pride and autonomy.
Gift cards from Walmart, Amazon, local grocery stores, and retailers are most in demand, as they provide easy access to essential items-especially for families without transportation.
To participate, community members can drop off donations at 99 Edward Street, St. Thomas, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., now through December 6. Tax receipts will be provided.
A Donor Drop-off Party will also take place on December 3 from 1 to 5 p.m., offering coffee, treats, and heartfelt thanks to all supporters.
