St. Thomas and Elgin County will join communities across Canada in honouring those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country, through Remembrance Day Ceremonies beginning this weekend.
Five local communities will be holding ceremonies on Sunday (November 10), including the Township of Southwold, Bayham, Port Stanley, Port Burwell and Rodney.
The St. Thomas Remembrance Day ceremony will be taking place on Monday at Veterans Memorial Garden beginning around 10:45 a.m. All other ceremonies will take place Monday.

On Sunday, November 10th
- Township of Southwold: Shedden Keystone Complex 9:30 a.m.
- Bayham: Vienna Cenotaph 10:45 a.m.
- Port Stanley: Parade beginning at Main Street at 10:45 a.m. heading across the lift bridge to the Cenotaph in Veterans Park for service.
- Port Burwell: A small parade will lead off from the legion to the Port Burwell Cenotaph around 12:45 p.m. A light lunch will be held back at the branch where all are welcome.
- Rodney: 1 p.m. at The Rodney Library
On Monday, November 11th
- Springfield: Springfield Cenotaph 9:15 a.m.
- St. Thomas: Veterans Memorial Garden 10:45 a.m.
- Aylmer: Parade at 10:45 a.m. from Legion 211 to John St. N traveling south to Talbot. It will move west to the Aylmer Cenotaph (46 Talbot St. West) for the 11:11 a.m. ceremony
- Belmont: Belmont Community Park 10:45 a.m. (Light lunch to be served at Belmont Fire Hall following)
- Dutton: New Cenotaph in Sons of Scotland Park (1 Scotland Street Dutton) at 10:45 a.m.
- Port Stanley: A smaller service will he held at the Cenotaph in Veterans Park where a few wreaths will be laid. Ceremony starts at 11 a.m.
- West Lorne: West Lorne Cenotaph 11 a.m. (In front of Bo Horvat Community Centre)
- Oneida Nation of the Thames: Oneida Community Centre at 11 a.m. (2017 Ball Park Road)
