Preventing crimes before they can occur is always the best way to keep our communities safe. That’s the message during Crime Prevention Week running November 3rd to 9th.
It’s a partnership between the Ministry of the Solicitor General and the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police, which sees police services across the province reach out to their communities to highlight the importance of crime prevention as a means to achieving safer and healthier communities for everyone.
The St. Thomas Police are among local services asking residents to think about what they can do to keep their families, neighbourhoods, schools, and workplaces safe from criminal activities.
Samantha Wakefield, Corporate Communications Coordinator explains further.
The annual campaign sees a specific focus each year, with Wakefield sharing the theme for 2024.
Adding that collaboration is vital within the St. Thomas Police Service.
She explains how the St. Thomas Police will be using their website and social media pages to highlight some of the things we can do as a community to help prevent crimes.
myFM will be sharing the theme each day- so don’t forget to check back!
