A probationary constable with the St. Thomas Police Service has been charged with impaired driving.
Early Sunday morning, Elgin OPP were notified of a possible impaired motorist. The vehicle was located on Springfield Road in Malahide and the driver failed a roadside screening test.
Const. Sarah Mooney is charged with impaired operation of a vehicle.
Her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle impounded for seven days.
In addition, she has been suspended from duty and will appear in St. Thomas court Nov. 26.
Once the criminal proceedings have been completed a Community Safety and Policing Act investigation will follow.
