Bursts of fall air have be felt across St. Thomas-Elgin this week, a chilly reminder that winter is just around the corner.
But our local YWCA is making sure everyone in the community is well prepare for the uncertain weather trends we’ll experience this year with the return of their annual Winter Coat and Accessories Give Away.
Thanks to a partnership with Goodwill Industries and ClothingWorks, the YWCA hopes to assist hundreds of people in need during the giveaway both Friday and Saturday- much like they were able to do in 2023.
That was Melissa Kempf, Communications Manager at YWCA St. Thomas-Elgin. She explains how the process will work for anyone hoping to stop by.
Kempf adds that if anyone isn’t able to make it out, consider sending a friend or family member in your place.
A number of volunteers will be on site during the giveaways days on October 11th and 12th notes Kempf, should anyone need assistance.
The Winter Coat and Accessories Give Away will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both Friday and Saturday, while supplies last.
