An update to a story myFM covered earlier this week.
A 34-year-old St. Thomas man has been arrested by London Police in relation to the possession of suspected child pornography.
With the assistance of St. Thomas Police, Matthew James Covil was arrested by London Police last Friday at a Princess Avenue residence in St. Thomas.
Electronic devices were seized which contained suspected child pornography.
In June of this year, London Police were made aware of an ongoing investigation by members of the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children and the National Child Exploitation Crime Centre involving a St. Thomas resident.
Covil has been charged with:
- Breach order from sexual offence conviction;
- Unlawfully possess child pornography;
- Unlawfully access child pornography; and
- Resist arrest.
Covil remains in custody and is expected to appear in London court on Sept. 6.
