Parkside Collegiate Institute’s ThunderStamps robotics team has been in existence since 2014.
Each year, the students on the team build on the success of their predecessors.
The team is comprised of roughly 30 students who, each year, participate in competitions directed by the FIRST organization (For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology).
Team spokesperson Georgie Street talks about the history and success of the team.
And, it’s not just a team comprised of male students at the school.
This past spring the Parkside Collegiate Institute’s ThunderStamps robotics team competed at the FIRST Robotics World Championship in Houston, Texas.
They entered the competition ranked 44th, not in Canada but out of almost 3,300 teams worldwide.
She explains how the competition plays out.
She notes the team has been approached by prestigious organizations.
The robotics team is hosting a fundraising festival this Friday evening.

The ThunderStamps Summer Festival runs 5 until 9 p.m. Friday Aug. 16 at the CASO station.
