An Aylmer resident is out roughly $3000 after falling victim to a romance scam.
Aylmer Police note that for the better part of a year and a half, the victim had been engaging in an online relationship with the suspect, sending several financial transactions to someone she believed was her fiancé- despite never having met in person.
As another resident falls victim, the Aylmer Police strongly encourage everyone to refrain from sending any currency to someone you are unfamiliar with or have never met.
The investigation is on-going.
