There are no talks planned to hammer out a deal to end a six-day old LCBO strike.
And now the union representing thousands of Ontario liquor store workers is ramping up pressure as it demands better wages and more full-time jobs for its members.
The LCBO closed its stores for two weeks after the workers walked off the job Friday.
The retailer intended to open some distribution centres this week to help get booze into restaurants and bars across the province, but now says that won’t happen because of picketing at the locations.
Instead, the LCBO is offering small orders online.
Several dozen union workers on the picket line delayed delivery trucks entering a distribution centre in Mississauga yesterday.
According to one person on the line, the warehouse is using replacement workers to try to fulfill warehouse orders.
