PD Party Day: Robotics! is taking place at the St. Thomas Public Library today from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Join in for a day full of robotics-themed activities on the Lower Level! At 2 p.m. special guests, the Thunderstamps Robotics Team from Parkside will host a demonstration in the Carnegie Room.
Saturday Stories goes tomorrow at the library from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Join staff each Saturday for storytime, which is full of active songs and stories!

Catfish Creek Conservation Authority is taking part in Kids 1st Day on Friday, a once-a-year event run out of the City of London, that offers free or low-cost fun to children and their families. It’s running from 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and will cost just $3 to participate. They’ll be offering Adventure Wagon Rides, canoe, kayak and fishing pole rentals, a sand castle building contest and more. This week will be your last chance to take in “The Beaver Club” at Port Stanley Festival Theatre. It’s a four women show that follows neighbours Eunice, Karen, Radiance and Yvette as they scrapbook, squabble and skinny dip their way from Toronto to Dildo, Newfoundland. The Mocha Shriners are coming to St. Thomas for a Ceremonial Weekend Friday, May 31st & Saturday June 1st. Fish Fry at the Masonic Centre of Elgin Fri. @ 5:30 pm $30.00 per person with public welcome to attend. Sat. June 1 @ 2:00 pm is a Full Shriners Parade featuring New Candidates, Nobles, funny cars, bands, and motor vehicles. Full details can be found here.

Somerset Recovery and Wellness Presents – The Art of Recovery on Friday beginning at 6:30 p.m. No admission cost. Come enjoy an evening with a mental health panel, comedic show by Emerald Hill, songs by recording artist Michelle Titian, Stephanie Preston, and Tisha Summers. The Horton Farmers’ Market is open Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon! They’ve been bringing the farm to the heart of the city since 1878 and you can stop by every Saturday through November 2nd to shop the fresh and local foods as well as endless creations from the talented artisans.

The Old Imperial Farmers’ Market is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Aylmer! It’s a family-friendly, year-round, indoor Farmers’ Market that celebrates, supports, and showcases the best of what our community has to offer.

The City of St. Thomas, in partnership with Elgin County and the Municipality of Central Elgin, will be hosting a free AccessAbility Open House on Saturday, June 1st. Taking place between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Joe Thornton Community Centre in St. Thomas, the event aims to increase understanding around important disability issues and change attitudes about people living with disabilities in our community. This Sunday is the re-opening of the Elgin County Railway Museum for the summer with family friendly events planned throughout the day, and no admission charge. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., wander through the exhibits, check out the crafts on sale and let the kids burn off energy on the bouncy castle. As a bonus, drop by the CASO station between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday for the unveiling of the beautifully restored London & Port Stanley Car 14.
