A heavy police presence in the area of Harlequin Court and Renaissance Drive Wednesday night in St. Thomas ended peacefully notes city police.
Officers were called the scene and remained there for several hours as a result of an active investigation.
Throughout the isolated incident there was no risk to public safety and neighbours in the immediate vicinity were made aware to remain inside their residences as a precaution.
As a result a male subject was taken into custody with charges pending in relation to assault and mischief.
No officers nor the subject were injured during the incident but as a precaution the male was transported to St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital for assessment.
Investigation into the incident does continue.
