
Following its approval by council on Monday, the Municipality of Central Elgin has announced the appointment of its new Chief Administrative Officer, Carey Herd.
“Carey brings a great balance of experience and vision, along with a leadership style that will support moving the municipality forward. She is an advocate for a culture of engagement, innovation and accountability. On behalf of Council and staff, I welcome Carey to the Municipality of Central Elgin as our new Chief Administrative Officer. We look forward to working with Carey to support Central Elgin in its path to prosperity,” said Mayor Andrew Sloan.
As an municipal expert with over 25 years of extensive experience in public service, Herd looks to provide valued insight into all aspects of municipal governance. Herd is also a member of the Ontario Municipal Administrators’ Association, as well as the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators.
She previously held the role of Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Caledon and will take effect in Central Elgin on May 13th.
Herd takes over for Robin Greenall with Mayor Sloan noting “Ms. Greenall’s leadership and dedication to the community during this transition period has been greatly appreciated.”
