From now until May 5th, you have a chance to give back to our local community through the purchase of a Tim Hortons Smile Cookie.
The annual campaign sees 100% of proceeds from each Smile Cookie – a chocolate chunk cookie topped with pink and blue icing drawing out a smile- donated to local charities.
In St. Thomas, all money raised will once again benefit the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation and support patient care.
myFM had the chance to speak with Foundation President and CEO, Mary Lou Crowley about the return of Smile Cookies and learned exactly where the funds raised will be utilized.
These annual campaigns mean so much to the foundation noted Crowley as much of the equipment in our hospital comes thanks to the support of the community.
As we prepare for an exciting and delicious week of fundraising for local charities, Crowley notes how thankful the foundation is for the support.
But the STEGH Foundation isn’t the only group you can support this week.
The 2 Tim Hortons restaurants in Aylmer and West Lorne’s location on Graham Street will be raising funds for the Ontario Student Nutrition Program – Elgin. OSNP provides funding and support to breakfast and snack programs in 29 schools across Elgin County, reaching approximately 8,100 students and ensuring they are well nourished and ready to learn.
Those who are out in Dutton can stop by one of the Onroute restaurants to support Million Dollar Smiles.
Tim Hortons restaurant owners across North America have now raised over $111 million through the sale of Smile Cookies, including a record-breaking $19.7 million raised last year alone.
To participate in this year’s campaign, just visit your local Tim Hortons restaurant or place an order through the Tim Hortons mobile app for delivery.
Crowley adds that preorders form are also available online.
You can also support our local organizations by purchasing one of four Smile Cookie personality pins at participating restaurants.
