Start beach season early this Saturday with the return of Port Stanley’s annual Polar Bear Dip for Childcan!
Last year’s event was a record-breaker and organizers are optimistic 2024 will be no different as they look to bring hope to local kids and their families, all affected by childhood cancer.
The fundraiser returns to the frigid water at Little Beach and adventure-seekers are encouraged to dive in for the cause.
Participants of the Polar Bear Dip are asked to collect pledges leading up to the day, before taking the leap of faith into Lake Erie around 11 a.m.
Proceeds from the event will support local families who are coping with their child’s cancer diagnosis as well as vital pediatric cancer research at Children’s Hospital in London.
A goal of $125,000 has been set for this year.
