Those still hoping to plan something fun to do over the Family Day long weekend can take advantage of free fishing across the province.
From February 17th to 19th, Ontarians can enjoy fishing province-wide without having to purchase a licence or carry an Outdoors Card.
During this free fishing period however, it is essential to carry valid identification issued by the provincial or federal government and should include both your name and date of birth.
Families fishing during winter conditions are also advised to practice proper ice safety habits.

Free fishing in Ontario will also be available May 11th and 12th for Mother’s Day, June 15th and 16th for Father’s Day and from June 29th through July 7th during Family Fishing Week.
