My Broadcasting Corporation is continuing its expansion throughout the Ontario radio landscape.
The company, which owns 94.1 myFM, announced today the purchase of four new stations from Bell Media in the Kingston and Brockville markets.
The stations include 98.3 CFLY‐FM and 98.9 CKLC‐FM in Kingston, as well as 103.7 CJPT‐FM and 104.9 CFJR‐FM in Brockville.
MBC President Jon Pole says he’s excited to add these two markets, as they complement the company’s concentration of stations across Eastern Ontario, while also righting the legacy from the CHUM era. Pole adds that they plan to service both listeners and clients in Kingston and Brockville like they’ve never experienced before.
Once the deals are complete, MBC will own 23 stations across 14 markets. The transaction is pending CRTC approval, which Pole says is expected to close later in 2024.
Earlier this year, MBC made history as well, when founders Jon Pole and Andrew Dickson were the first Canadians to be granted a US radio license when the FCC approved their application to purchase WLYK‐FM in Cape Vincent, New York.
