It was a whirlwind weekend for the U18 St. Thomas Stars who returned home from Sarnia Sunday as 2024 International Silver Stick Champions.
The boys represented the Railway City well, going 5 for 6 in the tournament, including a 3-2 come from behind win over Cambridge during round robin play Saturday.
The Stars were trailing 2-0 with about 7 minutes left in the game, before 3 unanswered goals lead to the impressive comeback.
Coincidentally, it was the Cambridge Hawks who stood between St. Thomas and the title after the Stars secured a 5-1 win over the Collingwood Blues in the semi’s.
But the U18 St. Thomas Stars emerged victorious once again, with another 3-2 win over the Hawks in the final.
Congratulations boys!
