The St. Thomas Swish Special Olympics basketball team is set to represent the city at Provincials in May, after successfully qualifying for the tournament in 2023.
In preparation for this exciting opportunity, the local team will be hosting their own tournament in Aylmer on January 20th, with teams from Kitchener- Waterloo, Simcoe, London, Lasalle and Windsor taking part.
The St. Thomas Swish are inviting the community to come take in the games and see first hand how competitive and skillful our Special Olympic athletes are.
Games are set to get underway around 9 a.m. at East Elgin Secondary School, with no entry fee involved.
A raffle table and bake sale has been planned, with all money raised supporting Special Olympics Basketball.
