Messenger Freight Systems in St. Thomas have officially named their two new light up reindeer- thanks to the suggestions of Beth Beecroft.
“Boxer and Shipper” proudly stand tall at roughly 16 and 12 feet respectively at the corner of the Messenger Freight property near the intersection of Dennis Road and Highbury Ave.
If you can remember, we kept the actual figure of the Downtown Dollars prize a secret and Beecroft was pleasantly surprised to find out she’d won $250 worth.
She says this extra boost around the holidays may allow for a few surprises to happen.
With the contest being all about fun and getting the community as a whole involved, Messenger Freight Systems decided that one prize wasn’t enough.
Another $250 Downtown Dollars prize was given to the runner up, which was 4 year old Ellie Winkler.
She was hoping Messenger would pick Samson- after her dog who is loyal and dependable like their services and Choo-Choo- after the sound a train makes like the rail service.
Dozens of suggestions were sent in over the course of the contest and Messenger Freight Systems thanks everyone who took part!
