An early morning trip home from Port Stanley turned into a shocking experience for a St. Thomas man.
Just before 2 a.m. Sunday, Elgin OPP responded to reports of a vehicle striking a utility pole on Sunset Road near East Road.
With the help of St. Thomas Police, the driver was located. He displayed signs of intoxication and registered a fail reading when tested.
Sixty-seven year-old Kenneth Gagnier was charged with operation while impaired and failing to remain.
His licence was suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.
