Two Bayham men have been charged in the theft of firearms from an Aylmer residence more than three years ago.
Aylmer Police began an investigation in October of this year. On Monday (Nov. 27), Aylmer Police with the assistance of Ontario Provincial Police Tactics and Rescue Unit and Elgin OPP Community Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a house on Jackson Line in Straffordville.
Several firearms and ammunition were seized/recovered, including a prohibited handgun and a stolen rifle.
A 59-year-old man and a 56-year-old-man both from Straffordville have been arrested and charged with;
· Four counts of knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
· Four counts of careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
· Three counts of knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
· possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
· Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
