Celebrate the kick off to the holiday season with a Victorian style feel this Friday through Sunday at Dickens Days in Port Stanley.
The cherished local event takes over the village this weekend, with a number of fan favourites returning and some new additions as well!
94.1 myFM has partnered with The Port Stanley BIA this week to highlight all that Dickens Days Weekend has to offer, and in doing so, sat down with board member Ryan Featherstone.
As in years past, the fun kicks off on Friday with the Dickens Day Night Parade hosted by the Port Stanley Lions and Lioness clubs. Floats will begin departing Foodland at 7 p.m., and run along Stanley Street to Colborne Street, across the lift bridge and then south on William Street to Mackie’s.
It always brings a huge crowd to Port Stanley, but as Featherstone notes- that’s just one of the draws for residents and visitors alike.
Of course all the other staples will be back adds Featherstone, from carolers to marshmallow roasting, the list goes on and on.
“Santa’s Workshop” will be located at 294 Bridge Street and will be open for visits both Saturday and Sunday.
Featherstone says not only will you be able to explore and meet the big man himself, it will also serve as their collection location for donations in support of the Port Stanley and Area Community Cupboard.
And that’s not all says Featherstone as the BIA has added another element to make the day more family friendly.
A number of local businesses will be offering special promotions and giveaways throughout Dickens Days Weekend so be sure to explore and take in all the village of Port Stanley has to offer.
