Steve Clark will remain on the job despite being found guilty of violating the Members’ Integrity Act over the Greenbelt scandal.
The Ontario Housing Minister was found to have breached the act by QUOTE “by failing to oversee the process by which lands in the Greenbelt were selected for development,” according to Integrity Commissioner J. David Wake in a report published yesterday.
Wake ruled that Clark Clark contravened the legislation by allowing his chief of staff, who has since resigned, to select 14 of the 15 plots of land removed from the Greenbelt.
Premier Doug Ford is standing strong against the mounting calls for Clark’s resignation.
A statement from the premier’s office reads QUOTE ““Minister Clark will continue to work towards delivering on our promise to build at least 1.5 million homes and ensure public trust and confidence is maintained every step of the way.
Clark says he accepts the findings of the report as QUOTE “as minister, the buck stops with me.”
