Southwestern Public Health on Thursday advised swimming is not recommended at Port Burwell Provincial Park and at Little Beach in Port Stanley.
All other public beaches in Elgin did not indicate harmful levels of bacteria. However, major rainfall events will lead to runoff which can increase E. coli levels.
Beach water quality updates are also available 24/7 by dialing 2-1-1, Ontario’s free information and referral service or on the SWPH website.
