My Broadcasting Corp. President Jon Pole speaks out on Facebook/Instagram news ban

News links from Canadian content producers, like 94.1 myFM on StThomasToday.ca, are now being blocked on Facebook and Instagram.

Jon Pole President of My Broadcasting Corporation, myFM’s parent company, was blunt in his assessment of the move.

But Pole says our commitment to local news isn’t going to change.

The ban from Meta is in response to Bill C-18, which says in part that services like Facebook and Google should be sharing ad revenue with Canadian news media.
