A comedy about dreams pursued in the unlikeliest of places is on stage now at The Port Stanley Festival Theatre.
“On the Air” by Ephraim Ellis follows the story of The Loon 87.9, a local radio station that has seen better days, as literally nobody is listening!
It made its official Port Stanley Festival Theatre debut last week, following the world premiere at Lighthouse Theatre in Port Dover in early June.
myFM, who is the show sponsor for “On the Air”, had the chance to speak with writer Ephraim Ellis when he was on hand Thursday for the special gala performance.
It was also the first time Ellis had the chance to see the Port Stanley crew in action.
He notes how great it is to see and hear the reaction from the audience after so much work undertaken both on paper and on the stage.
In addition to his time spent in the sketch comedy scene, Ellis has also been a professional tv and film actor for roughly 20 years. Our listeners may recognize Ellis from his roles in Degrassi: The Next Generation, Falcon Beach, Family Biz, and Murdoch Mysteries among others.
He says this latest venture has been a long time coming.
‘On the Air” by Ellis will run through July 29th, with matinee and evening shows available. For those with or hoping to purchase tickets, Ellis gives a sneak peak of what to expect.
