It’s an exciting time for those looking at ways to beat the heat this summer, as Jaycees Pool gets set to open for the season.
They’ll kick things off with their annual Canada Day opening this Saturday, which is free for the entire community notes Will Shoukri, Aquatics Supervisor at Jaycees.
With the pandemic playing a role no doubt, Shoukri says that attendance at the local pool has been down over the past few years. With a big focus on community, they hope to change that this year!
And in doing so, the city of St. Thomas has added some new classes to the schedule at Jaycees.
This is in addition to the regular swim lessons hosted at Jaycees Pool, with a number of spots still available throughout the summer.
Those hoping to utilize Jaycees for public swims can do so weekdays from 12:45 p.m. to 4 or 6:15 to 8, with weekends being 1:30 p.m. to 4. Shoukri goes over admission prices for the 2023 season.
Pool rentals for private swims or birthday parties are also available once again this summer
Shoukri adds that Jaycees wants to become a staple in St. Thomas again, and to be known as a safe and inclusive place for everyone to enjoy.
