It features over 5000 English lavender plants, rows of coloured roses, poppies, peonies and more, with views of a beautiful Carolinian forest. And the summer season at Sparta Lavender Farm is just getting underway!
As new owners Bert Floyd and Karen Parr explain, this whirlwind business venture started out with a simple search for a country home to settle down in.
And thanks to some words of encouragement from friends and family, Sparta Lavender Farm became a reality. Parr notes that while a portion of the lavender they grow is utilized in their Lavender Boutique, the farm is a place for visiting and exploring.
Another highlight at the farm says Parr, is the amazing butterflies they have fluttering around during the summer.
In addition to the breathtaking scenery and endless amounts of flowers and plants to explore, the Sparta Lavender Farm is also an events space, with many already in the works.
With peak lavender season upon us, the farm is now open to the public from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. And because of that, Parr notes that a $5 admission fee will be in effect.
And with this being their first year operating the Sparta Lavender Farm, myFM asked the owners what they’ll most looking forward to this season.
With so much to do and with things constantly growing and changing, you can stay up to date on all things Sparta Lavender Farm through their website, Facebook page and Instagram.
