Two citizens, St. Thomas Police officers and a doctor were all victims of assault Monday, following interactions with a 40-year-old London man.
Just before 5:30 p.m., police were called to a Talbot Street bank in relation to an out-of-control male who, without provocation, assaulted two individuals.
Police note that upon their arrival, the assault victims appeared to be in need of medical assistance.
As officers attempted to arrest the male, they were also physically assaulted before the use of a conductive energy weapon assisted in the apprehension.
The accused was then sent to hospital to be medically assessed, where another unprovoked assault took place, this time toward a doctor.
The male now faces a number of charges, including…
Assault a Peace Officer x 2
Assault
Assault with a Weapon
Aggravated Assault
Mischief
Causing a disturbance
Once medically cleared, the accused was arrested and attended court where he was taken into custody.
