The city’s next supportive housing project in partnership with Indwell will open for occupancy early this summer.
The development on Queen Street will be known as The Station and Julie Ryan, Indwell community engagement coordinator, tells myFM what the four-storey apartment complex will include.

It will provide not only housing but services for marginalized residents, explains Ryan.

Audio PlayerIt’s the city’s second social services undertaking in partnership with Indwell. The first joint effort is the 16 micro-apartments on the second floor of the Talbot Street transit building known as the Railway City Lofts.
While the lofts offer transitional housing, The Station will be permanent housing, stresses Ryan.

Audio PlayerTo learn more about Indwell and The Station, the public is invited to an open house on May 18 from 5 until 7 p.m. at the St. Thomas Elgin Public Art Centre.
It’s an opportunity to hear more about Indwell’s plans in St. Thomas to create more affordable, supportive housing. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres and activities, with remarks at 6 p.m.
