Some welcomed news for local athletes and families as city park concessions are set to open up next week for the first time in 4 years.
Visitors to Pinafore Park, 1 Password Park and the Doug Tarry Sports Complex will soon be treated to some familiar tastes and smells as the Ice Box St. Thomas takes over the contract as of May 1st.
It’s been a busy winter for the team as Owner Markus Hawco explains, with plenty to do during what is typically an “off season” in the ice cream world.
While St. Thomas is used to the frozen yogurt and ice cream side of the business, Hawco says that through these park concessions, residents will also get a taste of the savoury.
It’s a big deal for local sports leagues as Hawco points out, giving attendees the options to grab a cold drink, sweet treat or bite to eat during a game. And debt and credit will be available!
With Pinafore Park being a thriving community hub during the summer months, Hawco adds that it was a no brainer to make the Dance Pavilion Concession the official new home of the Ice Box.
The concession at Pinafore will be open daily from noon to 9 p.m. beginning May 1st, with 1 Password and Doug Tarry operating around the soccer and baseball schedules for each facility.
As far as what’s next, Hawco says it only gets sweeter!
Hawco adds that the Ice Box will still be at your favourite farmers markets this summer and will evening be joining the fun down in Port Stanley this year.
You can stay up to date on everything Ice Box through their social media and website, because you just never know what they could get up to this summer!
