Rockstar employee: Cindy Keyes, Terrace Lodge Nursing Home

She has been described as having the gift of mercy and it shines through what she does every day.

Cindy Keyes is an RN at Terrace Lodge in Malahide. Her peers acknowledge she goes above and beyond on a daily basis.

She says going that little extra brings her great satisfaction.

She adds although her day may be extremely busy, when she can she makes every effort to help out another member of the team.

Likewise, finding time in her routine to spend a few extra minutes with a resident is rewarding to Keyes.

She admits the time spent during the pandemic has been stressful on staff, but even moreso on the residents who don’t always comprehend what is taking place.

Keyes has spent much of her career in long-term care facilities both in this area and in British Columbia and she highly recommends such a path for any young person looking to enter the healthcare field.

She says you get a great understanding for seniors when you work in long-term care.
