St. Thomas Police and the OPP Tactical Unit were on the scene of a targeted shooting at a home on Palm St. early Saturday morning.
According to a resident on Palm Street events began to unfold very early in the morning.
Staff Insp. Steve Bogart confirmed to myFM one person has been taken to hospital in London.
In an update at 2 p.m. Saturday, St. Thomas Police advised an adult male had been shot in the torso. The victim was immediately transported by ambulance to the London Health Sciences Centre. The victim went directly into surgery to treat his injuries. The male victim remains in hospital post-surgery, recovering in the ICU listed as being in critical condition.
Bogart explained the role of the OPP unit at the scene.
He was not able to confirm the condition of the person shot but an update will be forthcoming. No one is in custody as of early Saturday afternoon.
Palm Street had been blocked off early in the morning and area residents had been advised to remain inside.
