A resident of Jamaica has been charged with regard to an assault with a weapon just before 1 a.m. Monday.
By the time Elgin OPP responded to a Chute Line residence in Bayham, the accused had fled the scene. The OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit, along with Elgin OPP conducted a search and the accused was taken into custody.
The 32-year-old man has been charged with assault with a weapon and was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
