A 56-year-old St. Thomas man is facing numerous charges after an early morning raid Friday at a Talbot Street apartment.
The search was conducted by members of the St. Thomas Police Service Street Crime Unit and Property Crime Unit assisted by the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit.
Police seized a 12-gauge shotgun with ammunition, butterfly knife, cocaine, crystal meth, hydromorphone, cannabis extract, cash, scales and processing equipment.
The total street value of the seized drugs is $35,000.
Wayne Mielke is charged with a number of possession and weapons offences including:
- 3 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking
- unauthorized possession of a firearm
- careless storage of a firearm
- 4 counts of possessing a firearm contrary to prohibition order
- possession of cannabis for the purpose of distribution
- unauthorized possession of a weapon
He was held for a bail court appearance.
