Today has been declared Jack Graney Day in St. Thomas in celebration of his 14-year MLB career on the diamond and 21 years off the field as a play-by-play broadcaster for the Cleveland Indians.
The hometown baseball hero will be honoured at Emslie Field tonight for being posthumously awarded the Ford C. Frick Award for Excellence in Baseball Broadcasting.
It’s a free community celebration kicking off at 6:30 p.m. with food trucks, live music and of course baseball!
A recognition ceremony will take place at 8, before the St. Thomas Cardinals take on the Sarnia Brigade under the lights.
Following the game, St. Thomas’ first Drone Show will fill the skies thanks to Messenger Freight Systems.
