It’s Future Leaders Day on 94.1 myFM presented by the St. Thomas Home Show. We are shining a light on five individuals, 25 years of age and younger who are inspiring the next generation in St. Thomas-Elgin.
Whether it’s volunteering at the Horton Market or writing for the Railway City Tourism blog, Darien Gordon is a familiar face and voice in St. Thomas.
Actively involved with volunteering in the community and with politics at all three levels of government, it was his suggestion to Mayor Joe Preston to have the Ukrainian flag fly in front of city hall.
He says the efforts of other young people in St. Thomas and elsewhere give him great hope for the future.
While he has many influences in his life, to find out who tops the list, you have to look no further than his home.
For young people frustrated with the lack of attention directed at issues they deem vital, Gordon stresses do not become discouraged.
While outspoken in many areas, Gordon holds the cards close to his chest when discussing what direction his life will take in the next five to ten years.
