This year, Canada is celebrating the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty’s Queen Elizabeth II, marking the 70th anniversary of her accession to the Throne, making her the country’s longest reigning Sovereign.
To mark this milestone, MP Karen Vecchio will be honouring 70 deserving individuals in Elgin-Middlesex-London who are committed to our community, an outstanding volunteer or have achieved an extraordinary accomplishment.
Vecchio notes that each riding across Canada will celebrate the anniversary in a different way.
And as Vecchio notes, we have a lot to celebrate as a community.
At this time, the MP and her team are seeking nominations in order to honour these 70 individuals.
The community is welcome to complete and submit an application for residents of Elgin-Middlesex-London who they believe are deserving of this prestigious recognition.
Nominees will be highlighted through recognition categories including Arts and Culture, Community Commitment, Environment, Heritage, Health, Wellness, Activity & Sport, Reconciliation in Action, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Young Person of Distinction, and COVID-19 Pandemic Response.
Vecchio says the 70 individuals will then be honoured during a special event in St. Thomas.
A nomination deadline has been set for May 12th, which can be submitted or printed at karenvecchiomp.ca.
