In partnership with Tree Canada, Geerlinks Home Hardware in St. Thomas celebrated the 10th annual National Tree Day on Tuesday by planting trees in the yard at Mitchell Hepburn Public School.
This is the 5th year that Geerlinks Home Hardware has participated in the day, notes Dealers-Owner Adam MacLeod.
The plant site at Mitchell Hepburn was chosen to encourage the next generation to be aware of their environmental impact and help create a greener future.
Principal at Mitchell Hepburn, Dave Westaway says the trees will help leave a legacy for all at the school.
Westaway says the are very grateful to Geerlinks, Tree Canada and Sparta Tree and Spade for the incredible donation to the school.
Geerlinks was 1 of 32 Home Hardware and Home Building Centre locations that took part in tree planting initiatives across the country.
