As we prepare to cast our votes in the Federal Election later this month, myFM is giving you a look at the local candidates running in Elgin-Middlesex-London.
Chelsea Hillier represents the People’s Party of Canada.
She was born and raised in Perth, Ontario and moved to London in the past year. Her partner and his family live in the Aylmer area.
Taking a look into the platform of the People’s Party, Hillier says a major focus is on individual freedoms, which are quickly being eroded under the Trudeau government.
She adds this has been particularly evident over the past 18 months of the pandemic.
She says her first and only choice this election was to run in Elgin-Middlesex-London.
As for the People’s Party of Canada, Hillier stresses it has drawn candidates from across the political spectrum.
Hillier says economic recovery coming out of the pandemic must hinge on business operating at full capacity with no restrictions whatsoever.
She adds there cannot be an economic recovery when 20 per cent of the population is excluded because of the soon-to-be implemented vaccine passport policy.
Hillier advises the party does not pander to climate alarmists.
She notes, “we are actually very good environmentalists in this county.”
Hillier is most concerned that individual rights in this country no longer matter, adding she wants people to feel proud of this country again.
