Following last week’s announcement that a second beat patrol officer will be joining Constable Katherine McNeil in the downtown core, the St. Thomas Police revealed that they are also giving the Traffic Unit some back up.
Beginning next week, Traffic Specialist PC Chad Nevill will be joined by Constable Taylor Emmerton in an effort to help keep city streets safe for vehicle and pedestrians
With road safety being a priority for the organization, the addition of Constable Emmerton will see that the Traffic Unit receives the daily attention it requires.
Emmerton will join the Traffic Unit just in time for Road Safety Week from May 18th – 24th, where the STPS will be focusing on enhanced patrol of the “big four” causes of fatal collisions: Impaired Driving, Distracted Driving, Aggressive Driving and Not Wearing a Seatbelt.
