The Thames Valley District School Board has announced a positive case of COVID-19 at Parkside Collegiate Institute in St. Thomas.
The positive case was confirmed by Southwestern Public Health and Thames Valley immediately notified staff, students, parents and guardians at the school.
SWPH is currently investigating the case and is in the process of identifying close contacts.
If you do not receive a letter from Thames Valley indicating the public health unit has identified your child as a close contact, your child is not considered to be at risk.
Only those staff and students who have been identified as a close contact will be notified and advised to stay home from school and quarantine for a period of 14 days.
There are now 8 active school cases in St. Thomas/Elgin, including 3 at Central Elgin Collegiate Institute, 2 at New Sarum Public School, 1 at Forest Park Public School, and 1 reported by the LDCSB at Assumption Catholic Elementary School.
