Staff and students at John Wise Public School reached out to Share the Love this week with the residents of Metcalfe Gardens. On Monday, principal Ryan Ewaskiw brightened their day delivering gifts from staff – a large variety of toiletries, treats, large print books and puzzles – and hundreds of hand-written letters and artwork from students as a demonstration of the school community’s grit and gratitude during the pandemic.
Ewaskiw noted the John Wise community takes pride in being part of something that brings joy and happiness to others.
He advised, “With all our pandemic protocols in place, it is nice to know our students and staff have taken some time to think about and connect with our most vulnerable community members. Considering the elderly residents are more restricted with their access to the community, it is a good feeling to reach out and share the love.”
He added, “Our school community is proud to have all been a part of something that brings joy and happiness to others. In doing so we can reflect on our own personal wellness and reasons to be grateful.”
