Residents at Valleyview Home in St. Thomas recently got a holiday surprise thanks to a group of individuals who wanted to put a smile on their faces.
Rita White, who is a local Mary Kay Sales Director, teamed up with her unit to collect products and monetary donations in order to create gifts for seniors in what they’re calling “Adopt a Grandparent.”
Thanks to the help of local businesses, White and her team were able to deliver 122 gifts to Valleyview Home and another 184 to homes and organizations in Chippewa Of The Thames First Nation.
White says the idea to do this was strongly influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic.
She adds they hope the gifts were able to lift their spirits during this time of year.
