The Aylmer Police Service have charged a resident after receiving a complaint that more than ten people were gathered at a residence last Sunday (Dec 6).
Police say that an officer checked in on the Talbot Street residence and did confirm that the occupant/owner was in violation of the Ontario regulation 364/20 specific to indoor gathering of more than 10 people.
As a result, the 58 year old male from Aylmer was charged with Failing to comply with the Reopening Ontario Act. (More specifically- Failing to comply with a continued section 7.0.2 order, to wit: O. Reg. 364/20: Rules for Areas in Stage 3, Schedule 3, section (1), host an event exceeding number permitted under section 10.1(1) of the Reopening Ontario Act)
The Aylmer Police Service are continuing to work with Southwestern Public Health and participated in dissemination of information regarding requirement for adhering to the applicable legislation in the Reopening of Ontario Act.
Local businesses were provided with Educational material identifying their responsibility and those of the patrons related to the safety precautions and legal requirements to ensure compliance with the Ontario Regulation 364/20 legislation.
