While no definitive cause has been determined for Sunday’s fire in an apartment at 294 Talbot Street, Chief Fire Prevention Officer Bill Todd has focused his attention on a wall-mounted electric heater.
In a statement to myFM, BJ Santavy Vice-president of Skyline Living, advised the damage as a result of the fire and water suppression left six tenants displaced from their units.
Santavy says she credits staff at 294 Talbot Street for “working diligently” to help evacuate residents during the fire Sunday afternoon.
She stressed, “We are working with each of them to ensure they have alternate living arrangements while their units are being restored.”
