The St. Thomas Police Service is introducing an online reporting service for sexual assault investigations. It’s in response to many victims who are hesitant to report these incidents to family, friends and police.
When completed, the submission will be dealt with by a member of the St. Thomas Police Criminal Investigation Unit and followed up accordingly.
Tanya Calvert, corporate communications coordinator, says the goal is to bring these cases to a resolution by conducting a professional and thorough investigation.
She adds, the police service will also provide individuals with resources for ongoing support.
A reporting form can be found on the St. Thomas Police Service website at stps.on.ca
