Karen Johnson’s involvement with the automotive industry goes back to Grade 8 when she worked summers at her father Carl’s dealership, Carriage Pontiac Buick in Aylmer.
Fast forward to the present and she is now the Dealer/Operator and Owner of Disbrowe Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac, a dealership she purchased several years ago from her father as he approached retirement.
Her involvement with her father in the automotive industry taught her the importance of family, not only at home but also with her Disbrowe family where many employees have spent decades at the dealership.
Her advice for a young woman interested in a career in the automotive industry involves three considerations: on-the-job training, work experience and a formal education. Most important, notes Karen, you have to work in a field you are passionate about and believe in. And, you have to bring a positive attitude to work every day.
That positive outlook on life is why Karen is one of our Doug Tarry Homes “Women of Influence” in partnership with myFM.
