For Jill Foster, being a paramedic here in Elgin County is just the tip of the iceberg.
From her day job, to the work she does with #IveGotYourBack911, these are just a few reasons why Jill Foster is one of our “Women of Influence” brought to you by 94.1 myFM and Doug Tarry Homes.
For those that aren’t aware, Foster has spent most of her life trying to better the lives of others. After starting out her adult life working in a crisis unit for youth as well as a rehab centre, Foster made the choice to go back to school and pursue a career as a paramedic.
Fast forward to 2020 where Foster is not only still a paramedic but has Co-founded #IveGotYourBack911 with Shaun Taylor, that works to support first responders and their mental health.
When asked what advice she had for other women hoping to pursue a career as a paramedic, Foster noted she’d recommend it to anyone but it doesn’t come without its challenges.
With already so many accomplishments under her belt, such as the recent fundraising campaigns that #IveGotYourBack911 have done during the COVID-19 pandemic, we asked Foster what stands out most to her as far as the good that she has done for our local community as well as on a global scale.
